Mark D. Walters, MD is Professor of Surgery in the Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Women’s Health Institute at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He has authored or co-authored over 160 publications, 80 book chapters, and 5 books, including Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, 4th Edition(with Dr. Karram), which has been translated into English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Chinese.

Dr. Walters was the Director of the Urogynecology Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic for over 15 years and has trained over 35 fellows, most of whom are in academic practice and leadership positions. He was President of Society of Gynecologic Surgeons (SGS) in 2011-2012 and was Director of the AUGS Board Review Course in FPMRS for 3 years. He is an expert peer reviewer for 8 specialty journals and was on the Editorial Board of the International Urogynecology Journal. He has been recognized with numerous honors, including the AUGS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
