 Join us for the SGS Annual Course in Advanced Gynecologic Surgery! The 2021 Course takes place at the San Diego Marriott La Jolla and UCSD Center for the Future of Surgery in La Jolla, California from Wednesday December 1st - Saturday, December 4th.

The ABOG MOC standards now allow participation in ABOG-approved Simulation Courses to meet the annual Improvement in Medical Practice (Part IV) MOC requirement.  This course has been approved to meet ABOG Improvement in Medical Practice requirements until 12/31/2023. COVID Policy

SGS is committed to holding a successful in-person meeting at the San Diego Marriott La Jolla and the Center for the Future of Surgery at UCSD.
The SGS priority remains the health and well-being of our community.

For the safety of all attendees and industry partners, everyone attending will be required to complete an attestation indicating that they have been fully vaccinated OR, if they are not fully vaccinated, that they will obtain a negative PCR or antigen coronavirus test within 72 hours of their first day at the meeting. They should also attest that, regardless of their vaccination status, they will not be attending the meeting if they are ill or have been exposed to COVID-19 within the 14 days preceding the meeting. Individuals who do not complete the attestation will not be permitted to enter the meeting.

All meeting attendees and industry partners will be required to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status, within the meeting spaces. Masks will be available at the registration desk. Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the hotel including meeting spaces.

SGS will continuously evaluate and update our plans and guidelines as new information becomes available. We will continue to share all updates on evolving COVID-19 preparations as we actively work to plan for a healthy and productive event.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the meeting attendees should be able to:

1) Describe and practice techniques to optimize minimally invasive routes to hysterectomy including, laparoscopic, robotic-assisted, and vaginal approaches
2) identify key anatomic structures and avascular spaces of the pelvis to optimize efficiency and safety in pelvic surgery
3) formulate clinical algorithms for diagnosis and treatment of stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse
4) describe work up for uterine leiomyomas and application of medical and surgical treatment strategies for uterine preservation
5) discuss how to apply an interdisciplinary approach to chronic pelvic pain and when to consider surgical intervention
6) describe indications and set up for office hysteroscopy and convey how to apply the “no-touch” vaginoscopic technique
7) assimilate new techniques for teaching gynecologic surgery including surgical coaching principles.
