CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION (CME)

Learning Objectives

Participants should be able to:

1) Describe and practice techniques to optimize minimally invasive routes to hysterectomy including, laparoscopic, robotic-assisted, and vaginal approaches
2) Identify key anatomic structures and avascular spaces of the pelvis to optimize efficiency and safety in pelvic surgery
3) Formulate clinical algorithms for diagnosis and treatment of stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse
4) Describe work up for uterine leiomyomas and application of medical and surgical treatment strategies for uterine preservation
5) Discuss how to apply an interdisciplinary approach to chronic pelvic pain and when to consider surgical intervention
6) Describe indications and set up for office hysteroscopy and convey how to apply the “no-touch” vaginoscopic technique
7) Assimilate new techniques for teaching gynecologic surgery including surgical coaching principles
