52nd Annual Scientific Meeting | March 22 - 25, 2026 Advancing Gynecological Surgery: Growth through Adaptability and Accessibility
Simulation Room Proposal Information
The Simulation Lounge will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 6:30 am - 7:30 am. The Simulation Lounge is a new opportunity to showcase the latest in surgical simulation innovations, inventions, and methodologies. It is intended to share ideas, gain feedback, get mentorship and transition ideas/inventions to end users.
Ideas include but are not limited to team-based training/emergency simulations, coaching, low cost/low resource solutions, DIY solutions, modifications to existing equipment, AR/VR, 3D printing, mobile apps, physiological sensors, unique learning paradigms, autonomous systems, AI, tissue properties, tele-sim, mobile operations, improvisation techniques, novel content delivery methods, and task trainer modifications.
The primary criteria for selection of a Simulation Station for the Simulation Lounge are:
- Anticipated level of interest in the simulation
- The needs assessment/gap analysis
- Novelty of the simulation innovation, invention, or methodology
Each Simulation Lounge proposal must include the following elements:
- Suggested Simulation Station title
- Primary presenter name and other team members
- Simulation station abstract:
- Introduction: Describe the background supporting the simulation system
- Objective: State the purpose of the simulation system.
- Methods: State details on development of the simulation system
- Results: Include any researched findings, noting statistically significant data. If none are available, indicate with “N/A”. Researched findings are not a requirement for submission or acceptance
- Conclusions: Summarize principal conclusions, emphasizing new and important aspects. Include feasibility of adaptation of simulation system at other institutions
- Explanation of any requests for AV equipment over and above the standard 6-foot table and two chairs. Wireless internet access will be provided, and standard electrical power can be provided upon request
- Description of what will be presented at the lounge: For example: a model of the simulation itself, a video of the simulation being used, something else?
- Commercially available technologies may not be submitted for the simulation lounge.
IMPORTANT: All submissions must follow the guidelines above and be made via the submission form. Due to the scheduling process of the meeting, the deadline will not be extended. The submission must be made in one session; you will not be able to save your work and come back to finish at a later time. Therefore, please be sure that you have all the required materials available at the time of submission.
Simulation Lounge Disclaimers: The primary author of a Simulation Station proposal must be an SGS member. All simulation stations must have an author available during simulation lounge viewing hour in order to present the simulation to an audience in a format which is interactive. The 2026 SGS Education Committee has the right to suggest/request edits to the selected proposals. Selection is at the discretion of the 2026 SGS Education Committee. Submission of a proposal does not guarantee selection as an SGS Simulation Lounge station.
If selected, additional equipment requests will be considered, but NOT necessarily approved. Notification will be sent for such requests after all equipment needs have been identified. Presenters are responsible for bringing demonstration materials (laptop, video, equipment for simulation).
